Save, Share, and Print

Make the result yours before exporting

Download, copy, and share actions become available after the randomized example has been replaced by a calculated chart, a loaded share link, or manually confirmed placements. Check all four positions—Sun, Moon, Rising, and Venus—and the selected mood before using those actions.

Changing a sign or switching among Vivid, Soft, and Nocturne changes the rendered colors. Recheck the result after the last edit so the downloaded image, copied hex values, and shared link all represent the version you intend to keep.

What the PNG contains

The downloaded card has a two-by-two swatch layout. Each tile identifies:

• its numbered placement—Sun, Moon, Rising, or Venus;
• the zodiac sign and symbol;
• the original editorial color name;
• the final six-digit hex value; and
• the displayed approximate reference label.

A PANTONEBIRTHCHART.COM label appears in the footer. The three editorial mood words stored with each underlying color definition are not part of the exported image.

For tile text, the export chooses near-black #17191D or near-white #F7F8FA according to the rendered swatch's relative luminance. That is a readability aid for this fixed layout, not an accessibility certificate for every size, platform, or later edit.

Choose one of three canvases

The export is a PNG generated at one of three fixed pixel dimensions:

• Feed: 1080×1350 pixels, 4:5
• Story: 1080×1920 pixels, 9:16
• Square: 1080×1080 pixels, 1:1

Choose by the shape of the destination rather than by an assumed print size. Feed provides a portrait composition, Story a taller full-screen composition, and Square an equal-sided card. A service may crop previews differently, so check its current safe area before adding your own text around the exported card.

The filename follows the selected preset: pantone-birth-chart-feed.png, pantone-birth-chart-story.png, or pantone-birth-chart-square.png.

The browser draws the PNG on a canvas and creates the download locally. The completed image is not uploaded to a server to produce the file.

Copy the hex values

Copy HEX places the four final rendered values on the clipboard. These are the current mood's values, so switching mood and copying again produces a different set for Soft or Nocturne.

Paste the line into project notes and add the mood and placement order. A useful record looks like this:

Vivid — Sun #D986A8; Moon #5B2A4A; Rising #63B6D5; Venus #D7AAA5

If clipboard access fails, select the visible hex values manually. Browser permissions, document security context, and clipboard support can affect the button; failure does not mean the palette has been lost.

What the Share button does

The page builds a result URL, a short caption, and a line of the four hex values. When the browser supports the Web Share API, the button opens the device's share panel. Otherwise, it copies the caption and URL so you can paste them into another app.

A canceled system share is simply a cancellation. If another error occurs, the interface reports that sharing is unavailable; you can still copy the current address or copy the hex values separately.

Read the share link before sending it

The URL has one compact c query parameter. Its value encodes:

1. the Sun sign code;
2. the Moon sign code;
3. the Rising sign code;
4. the Venus sign code; and
5. one code for Soft, Vivid, or Nocturne.

The raw birth date, local birth time, latitude, longitude, birthplace name, and calculated degrees are not included. Existing query parameters and fragments are removed when the clean share URL is built.

Opening the link restores the four sign selections and mood. The recipient can then adjust the selectors or mood in their own browser. The link is a portable palette state, not an immutable certificate or a saved account record.

It is also a public, forwardable URL. Anyone who receives it can see the encoded signs and mood. That is less revealing than raw birth details, but a distinctive combination may still mean something to people who already know the person's chart. Share it with the same judgment you would use for any public creative profile.

Write alt text and a useful caption

When posting the card as an image, repeat its meaningful content as text. Use the actual placements and values rather than writing only “my color palette.” For the default Vivid example:

Keep alt text concise enough for the context. A nearby caption can add the creative interpretation, explain that the labels are approximate, and link to the text-based methodology. Do not put essential instructions only inside the image.

Print with a proof, not a promise

A 1080-pixel canvas does not specify a guaranteed physical size, resolution at that size, ink recipe, or paper result. Hex is a screen-oriented notation. Display hardware, operating settings, image processing, printer conversion, ink, substrate, finish, lighting, and viewing conditions can all change the appearance.

Use a proof-based workflow:

1. Keep an untouched copy of the exported PNG and its hex record.
2. Ask the printer what file preparation they require for the intended size and process.
3. Print one proof on the intended stock or material.
4. Examine small text, tile boundaries, dark details, and pale colors under realistic light.
5. If an adjusted production file is needed, document the changes separately from the original chart values.
6. Approve a new proof before a full run.

If color consistency has contractual, brand, safety, or substantial cost consequences, use a qualified print or color professional and controlled physical references. The approximate labels on this site are not enough for that decision.

Troubleshooting checklist

The action buttons are inactive. Calculate a chart, open a valid shared result, or confirm the manual sign selections. A random example is intentionally not treated as a finished personal result.

The download does not appear. Check browser download controls, try the action again after a direct click, and confirm that the browser permits PNG downloads.

The native share panel does not open. The browser may be using the copy fallback or may not provide system sharing in that context. Look for the copied confirmation, or copy the address manually.

The printed colors differ. That is expected across screen and physical processes. Return to the proof workflow instead of substituting the approximate reference label as a printer specification.

Terms and responsible use

The Terms of Service allow copying displayed hex values and using downloaded cards in personal creative projects. Before commercial use, you are responsible for color accuracy, accessibility, print output, and third-party rights. The card and reference labels do not grant official Pantone specifications or licensing.
