Plain-language summary

Pantone Birth Chart does not require an account. In normal use, the birth date and local time are used for calculation in your browser and are not saved in the site's application database. A birthplace search does require a network request: the place text goes through this site's server to Open-Meteo so the interface can offer coordinates and timezone information.

The public site currently loads Google Analytics and Pageview without a first-party analytics preference panel. It also contains a disclosed Amazon affiliate recommendation after a visitor confirms or calculates a palette. The homepage and substantial editorial guides load Google AdSense publisher code for site verification and potential ad serving; legal, account, admin, and utility pages do not. Having that code on the site does not mean Google has approved the site or that an ad will appear on every visit.

The sections below explain those boundaries in detail.

Birth date, local time, and birthplace

For a full calculation, you enter a birth date, local clock time, and a birthplace query.

Date and time. The normal placement calculation uses the entered date and time in client-side code. These fields are not sent to an application API for the calculation and are not written to the site's application database.

Place search. The text in the birthplace search is sent to /api/birth-chart/locations. That server endpoint forwards a search to Open-Meteo's geocoding service and returns usable candidate places, including the place name, coordinates, country, administrative area, and timezone. The response carries a one-hour public cache directive and may be cached by browsers or infrastructure according to their behavior.

The place query is part of a web request. This site's hosting and security layers may process or log its requested URL and other standard technical information. Open-Meteo also processes the forwarded search under its own practices. We do not claim that a location query can never appear in an operational log or cache. Birth inputs are not attached to an account because the public generator does not require one. The site does not sell birth dates, birth times, birthplace entries, or calculated placements. This statement is about those birth inputs; third-party analytics and affiliate services still process their own technical or referral data as described below.

Alternatives to entering full details

You can use the date-only Sun preview without a location search when the date is not too close to a Sun-sign boundary. If you already know your four placements, you can choose them manually instead of searching for a place. If an exact birth time is unknown, do not enter a fabricated time simply to obtain a specific Rising result.

Calculation, images, and share links

The placement calculation and color mapping run in the browser after the necessary inputs are available. PNG cards are drawn in the browser with a canvas and are not uploaded to create the download.

A share URL contains one compact code for the four sign selections and selected mood. It does not contain the raw birth date, local time, birthplace name, latitude, longitude, or calculated degrees. A share link is still public and forwardable, and anyone who receives it can see the encoded signs and mood.

Analytics services can receive the full page URL during normal page-view measurement. On a shared-result page, that URL may include the compact sign-and-mood code even though it excludes raw birth details.

Hosting and security requests

Web hosting, delivery, and security layers may process standard request information such as IP address, user-agent or browser information, requested URL, timestamp, referrer, and security signals. This information is used by those layers to deliver, monitor, and protect the site and is handled under their own data practices and retention settings.

The public site is served over HTTPS. HTTPS protects data while it travels between endpoints; it does not prevent an endpoint or integrated service from processing the information it receives.

Analytics currently in use

The site currently loads two analytics services. They are not gated by an on-site analytics consent or opt-out control.

Google Analytics receives standard page and browser information, such as the page URL, referrer, device, and browser signals. It may use cookies or other browser storage according to its configuration and Google's practices. Read how Google uses information from sites or apps that use its services.

Pageview is the other configured page analytics service. It receives page-view and browser information when its script loads. We do not claim that it is cookie-free, anonymizes IP addresses, operates in a particular data region, prevents cross-site processing, or uses a particular retention period; those details depend on its current configuration and provider practices.

The site does not intentionally send birth-field values as custom analytics events. However, analytics scripts still make ordinary requests, and the current page URL can include the compact shared-result state described above.

Blocking an analytics domain or its browser storage should not be required for the core calculator, but it can reduce or prevent measurement. The site does not currently provide a first-party analytics preference panel, so browser settings and privacy tools are the controls presently available to visitors.

Browser storage and preferences

The theme system may store a light, dark, or system preference in the browser so it can be restored on another visit. That theme value is a local interface preference.

The locale runtime can use a preference cookie when additional public locales are enabled; the current public site uses English. Analytics services may use cookies or other storage under their own configurations. Because third-party behavior can change, this policy does not present an unverified fixed list of analytics cookie names.

You can inspect, block, or clear cookies and local storage in your browser. Changing these settings can affect measurement or saved preferences. Private browsing and tracking-protection features may also change what third-party scripts can store or receive, but their behavior varies by browser.

Amazon affiliate recommendation

A recommendation below the generated result links to Amazon and is visibly identified as affiliate content. The link is marked as sponsored. When you follow it, Amazon handles the destination page, attribution, any account activity, purchase, payment, order, delivery, and customer service under Amazon's own policies.

The required disclosure appears with the recommendation: As an Amazon Associate I earn from qualifying purchases. This affiliate relationship does not mean that Amazon endorses Pantone Birth Chart, and it does not determine the site's color mappings or editorial conclusions.

Google AdSense and display advertising

The homepage and substantial editorial guides load Google AdSense code associated with publisher ID ca-pub-9742784810661665. Legal, account, admin, and utility pages are excluded. Google decides whether the site is approved, whether an ad request is eligible, and whether an ad is served. The presence of the script or an ads.txt entry is not a claim that the account or site currently has a “Ready” status in AdSense.

When the AdSense script loads, Google and its advertising partners may receive standard browser and request data—including IP address, user-agent or device information, page URL, referrer, and ad-interaction information—and may use cookies, local storage, web beacons, or other identifiers for ad delivery, measurement, fraud prevention, frequency controls, and, where permitted, personalization. Google's general explanation is available on its partner-sites privacy page.

Google provides advertising controls through My Ad Center and explains additional browser and account choices on its privacy pages. Advertising eligibility and personalization can vary by region, account status, browser settings, consent signals, and applicable law. The site does not intentionally pass birth-field values to Google as ad parameters or custom advertising events, but a page URL can contain the compact sign-and-mood share state described above.

Email and privacy requests

If you email us, the site operator uses the sender address, message, and any information you choose to include to reply and manage the request. Correspondence is kept only as reasonably needed for those purposes, without a promised universal deletion deadline.

Please avoid including a birth date, birth time, or birthplace unless it is genuinely needed to reproduce a technical issue. There is no automated rights-request portal; questions and requests are handled by email. Whether a particular legal right applies depends on the visitor and jurisdiction.

Policy changes

When the data flow, analytics configuration, affiliate relationship, or advertising status changes materially, this page will be updated and its version date changed. The site has no general mailing list or public-user account system with which to notify every visitor directly.
